East Jones Family Medicine is excited to welcome our new provider, Kayla Cooley, FNP-C, to the team. As a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a native of neighboring Wayne County, Kayla is proud to care for individuals and families throughout Jones County and surrounding South Mississippi communities.
Her connection to the area gives her a strong understanding of the people and families she serves. She is passionate about building long-term relationships with patients and providing care that is compassionate, accessible, and centered around each individual’s needs.
A Unique Background Rooted In Leadership And Teamwork
Before entering healthcare, Kayla spent years in education and athletics, experiences that continue to shape the way she approaches patient care today. She played collegiate basketball at William Carey University while earning both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education degree.
Following college, she spent 10 years as a high school teacher and basketball coach. During that time, she developed a passion for mentorship, teamwork, and community involvement. Those same qualities now play an important role in the way she connects with patients and helps guide them through their healthcare journey.
A Commitment To Lifelong Learning
After a successful decade in education, Kayla felt called to pursue a career in healthcare. She returned to school and earned both her Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing from University of South Alabama.
Her path reflects a strong commitment to lifelong learning and serving others in meaningful ways. That dedication is one of the many reasons East Jones Family Medicine is proud to have her join the practice.
